BRAIN DUMP: Thoughts From The Founder

Once again, 30,000 feet up in the air…

Honestly, I have to say that I don’t LOVE traveling as much as I do, but when there is an opportunity to spread the word of Kreatures of Habit, whether its on a podcast, a youtube channel, an event, or a speaking engagement, I take it… It’s a commitment I’ve made as a CEO and brand builder, if I want this thing to continue working, growing and getting to as many humans as possible, gotta hustle.. And hustle I do. With that, I do love getting time on airplanes to write and work, as the distractions are vastly mitigated on an airplane, I actually look forward to flights.

I was out in Los Angeles for the last 6 days. I was asked to come back on the Soft White Underbelly YouTube channel after my first episode, where I shared fearlessly about the sexual abuse I dealt with as a child. The host of the show shared with me that after 11,000+ plus interviews, he has given me a top 5 episode of all time. I was honored, so when he asked me to come back on, I had to say yes, especially given the topic and how many people reached out to me about their own experiences, and that my courage gave them freedom and relief to now open up.

We shot on Friday afternoon and it went well, heavy of course, but also freeing for me.

I also was able to record a handful of podcasts for the new Michael Chernow Podcast that we will be rebranding to in a few weeks. The guests were great, here is what I took from the three interviews:

One of the key ingredients to a happy, successful and long term marriage/relationship is each partner's commitment to wanting to be curious about, and understand each other consistently over the long term… We all evolve, grow, and change as time goes on. In many cases the person you married is not the exact same human 10 years later, that's okay and to be expected. With an intentional and consistent desire to want to present with, and learn more about your partner, the relationship will never get boring… I thought that was such a profound takeaway. I also want to add that Donna and I are always planning for something together, a trip, a home update, an outdoor project… We always have something to work on together or to march towards. We have been planning our dream home for 10 years!! Haha.

All humans have their own relationship with food. Food is necessary for survival, and sometimes food relationships can get very difficult, most of us don’t share about our battles with food. I certainly had, and sometimes still have, a tough relationship with food, but there is always an opportunity to slow down and recalibrate.

Never judge a book by its cover. We all have a story, and the story I got from one of the guests on Monday is nothing short of unbelievable… You’ll have to wait to hear it, but I am just letting you know, it's a wild ride.. Movie worthy for sure.

Alright.. Last piece here. About a month ago, I asked you all about wanting to hear your stories. I am not going to slow down here. This community is thousands deep, there are amazing stories that we want to hear, and then ideally highlight and feature to inspire more and more people TO SHARE. I am only in my current position in life because I heard others share about their lives, which gave me relief and helped me feel less alone. My mission and the mission of Kreatures of Habit is to pay forward what was freely given to me all those years ago… helping humans walk more freely, more confident. It is so much easier making better decisions on a daily basis TOGETHER than trying to do this alone. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Love ya’ll

Chernow
