IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BASICS
There’s a melodic nature to the way Gabrielle Cahoon approaches her pilates teachings. Her regimented upbringing on a rural farm in North Carolina alongside her suzuki violin lessons, set the stage for this budding fitness coach to combine both hardwork and discipline through movement and feeling. The STOTT-certified pro has centered much of her efforts around the art of foundational training and intentional breathing exercises with an emphasis on serving those suffering with chronic pain—an area she herself identifies with due to her degenerative L3 L4 disc.
“Just like everybody is different, every BODY is different. Each individual I train takes something different away from their sessions because their sessions are catered to their specific needs. In general Pilates helps you understand your body on a deeper level. Each session begins with breathing.”
While self discipline might appear to be top-billing in Gabrielle’s life, she is a true believer in balancing work and play to build lasting lifestyle habits.
“You have to decide that you are ready, truly ready to make a change. When I make changes in my diet, lifestyle, and work it is for the greater good of my overall well-being.”
