Less Screen Time, More Life: The Human Connection Habit We're Forgetting

Humans exude energy, energy is what drives and inspires us. Unfortunately, we spend less time with other humans today than any other time in history. We are inside more, we are consumed with technology, and when we are with others or outside, we are still heads down on the phone… It really sucks

Less time in person with others means more loneliness and less energy, less energy means less drive and inspiration, less drive and inspiration leads to more sadness. I did my NYC train experiment again over the last few days when I was in the city. I committed to not being on my phone while taking the train, to be present for those short spurts traveling around the city. I was not surprised at all, but EVERY SINGLE HUMAN on the train was on their phones... EVERYONE. It really saddened me.. We all feel the need to get more work done, or scroll on social media. We never give our central nervous system a break, its a real problem. I know there is little I can do here to make even a scratch, but sharing this with the community might help some of you consider creating some separation from the tech when it is not totally necessary. We literally don’t give ourselves any time to think, we occupy our brain space constantly with consumption of other peoples needs or desire to get our attention…

The point I am trying to make here is that we all need to get outside more, be with people more, be okay with not answering that email the second it comes in, not answering the text while you are in a conversation with your friend or partner, not scrolling because we are bored… WE NEED TO EXPERIENCE LIFE MORE

That is why finishing off the summer and heading into the fall KOH will be spending way more time in real life at events, hosting our own events and doing fun things with more people. If you all have events or experiences that you would want to include KOH in on to support or be a part of, please shoot us an email at info@kreaturesofhabit.com and we will see if we can hop in.

Last note for this week: Be kind, do your best to help people feel comfortable, tell your friends and loved ones how great they look and remind them how well they are doing. Look for ways to compliment as many people as you can this week, it goes a long way 😀

Community is the waves that keeps the water flowing… Lets make waves y’all.
